At Varna Community Primary School we are committed to creating an inclusive environment to ensure that all children meet their full potential. We have a very knowledgeable and experienced staff who will support you and your child during their time at Varna. Currently there are five full time SEN/D Learning Support Assistants who work 1:1 with children and run regular targeted intervention groups across the school. We also have an in-house Speech and Language Therapist who works with staff, children and families once per week. In addition to this we have a SEN Teacher who works in our 'Beehive' classroom with children from EYFS & KS1. At Varna we work with a variety of external agencies to provide the correct support for your child. These include, but are not limited to, Educational Psycholgoists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Health visitors and the School nurse team. We have created a programme of coffee mornings over the year to support parents of children with SEN/D. Please see the flyer below for upcoming dates!
Thank you to everyone who came to our coffee morning on 16.01.2024 with Dr Teresa Regan, Educational Psychologist. Feedback from parents that attended was very positive and everyone found this session really useful. Dr Teresa Regan shared a document with us that has links to useful resources. Please see this below in 'Files to download' labelled 'Resources for parents'. We look forward to our next coffee morning on Wednesday 13th March at 9am with Kimberly Chu, our speech and langauge therapist.
Our first coffee morning was held 08/11/23 and was a great success! We welcomed Ali from the Local Offer Team who showed us how to access the website and newsletter. She also highlighted the events on in the near furture and the drop in sessions. Thank you to everyone that attended our coffee morning and we hope to see you again at the next one on Tuesday 16th January at 9am where we will welcome Dr Teresa Regan, Educational Psychgolgoist.
