Ofsted Report March 2025

We are delighted to share the final report from our recent Ofsted Inspection with you. One of the highlights from the report for us is that they recognise what we do to ensure a high quality education whilst ensuring that children feel safe and secure, “The school fosters an environment that is aspirational for the achievement of all groups of pupils. The curriculum is broad and ambitious. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) have the same opportunities as their peers because they are well supported to be successful. Pupils try hard and achieve well overall. Staff know pupils extremely well and understand their needs. Pupils know that adults will listen and help them if they have a worry. This helps pupils to feel happy and safe."

Year 6 Outward Bound Centre, Howtown, Lake District

Duration: 5 Days

We are excited to announce that we will once again be running an outdoor pursuits trip for year 6 pupils, this year we will be going to the Outward Bound Centre, Howtown, in the Lake District. This is with a company that we have used for these trips many times before. We will be sharing the centre with other school groups.

We have provisionally booked for Monday 29th June – Friday 3rd July, 2020.

The cost of the trip is £130, which is less than half the actual cost and is subsidised greatly by school in order to make it more affordable for all.

All meals, transport, training and specialist equipment is included in the price.  As I am sure you know from previous trips, the children have an amazing time doing lots of outdoor activities and it really is a great way to develop independence at the start of their final year at Varna.

Please express your interest in this trip by returning the slip below by Friday 27th September.  If this trip is to go ahead then we will be asking for a £50 deposit to be paid by Friday 25th October.

Then we would require:

  • another £40 payment by Friday 14th February, 2020
  • the final £40 to be paid by Friday 22nd May, 2020.

 

If, once your place is confirmed, you would like to pay the whole balance before Friday 22nd May, then you can do this.

We do feel it would be great for the children to have the opportunity to finish their time at the school with this wonderful experience
